500 Bikers to Ride For Fallen Officers

Officer Brad Fox was shot and killed in the line of duty in Plymouth Township, Montgomery County last year.

Officer Joe Wargo was killed by a driver on drugs in New Jersey in 2011.

On Sept. 21, their friends in the Easton area will honor them with the inaugural Brad Fox/Joe Wargo Fallen Heroes Run, a charity motorcycle ride expected to bring 500 to 700 bikers through the city.

Sponsored by the city, Drinky's, and Brass Knuckle Cycles/Automotive, the event is part of what could be Easton's busiest Saturday of the year, with Lafayette Day, the Riverside Festival of the Arts, Movies at the Mill and the Easton Farmers' Market Chili Pepper Fest all happening the same day.

It's $10 to take part in the ride, plus another $5 for passengers, and an additional $5 for a buffet at Drinky's at the end of the run.

All proceeds from the run will go to charities of the Wargo/Fox families' choice.

"We just want to make people aware that these men and women who put the badge on, they don't always come home," Matt Vangeli, one if the owners of Brass Knuckles and a friend of Wargo, said at a press conference Wednesday to announce the event.

Registration will run from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. along Larry Holmes Drive. The run will begin at 12:15 p.m., and end in front of Drinky's.
