10th Annual Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community Easton Participants

ProJeCt of Easton, Family Connection of Easton, and Third Street Alliance are participating in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community to take place Saturday, May 31, 2014, 9:00AM at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, this year celebrating its 10th anniversary. Highmark, Inc. underwrites the cost of the walk, so all funds raised directly benefit the agencies designated by walkers and donors. The agencies are looking for walkers to join them and seek donations for their causes, as well as sponsors to donate to the particular agency’s overall effort.

For 45 years ProJeCt has advocated for action to meet the needs of the hungry, the homeless and under-educated through its emergency assistance and food programs as well as adult, family and children's literacy programs. The agency serves more than 5,000 adults and children annually. ProJeCt has participated in the Highmark Walk for 10 years to support the agency mission to help people help themselves and will be recognized by Highmark in an anniversary event April 23.

Family Connection of Easton is the non-profit family center for the Easton Area School District whose  mission to connect families to basic needs, keep children in afterschool programs, promote health and wellness, and give preschool-aged children the tools they need for a successful school start. Last year more than 800 Easton families benefited from services. Family Connection of Easton has taken part in the walk since 2008.
