Good morning everyone. It's Wednesday, Oct. 2. I don't normally do this type of thing in this sort of post, but happy birthday to my brother Patrick.
And on to what's happening today in Easton.
1. The 39th Annual First Flag over the United Colonies Band Festival comes to Cottingham Stadium this evening. Presented by the Easton Area High School Instrumental Music Association (IMA), the festival features bands from from Wilson, Southern Lehigh, Phillipsburg, Emmaus, Saucon Valley, Bangor and Pocono Mountain East high schools in competition.
The Easton Area High School and Middle School bands will perform as well, but just in exhibition.
Tickets are $5 for adults, and $4 for students and senior citizens. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Performances begin at 6:30 p.m.
2. Are you concerned about the Delaware River and flooding on the waterway? You can get a chance to speak up today as the Delaware Riverkeeper Network hosts two "listening sessions" from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Nurture Nature Center at 518 Northampton St.
