Your Turn: South Third Street Construction

How has the long term work on South Third Street affected you?

Between the installation of new sidewalks and repaving of the road, South Third Street in Easton has been under construction for months

Road work will continue this week and close the street on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, the Express-Times reports, with the project hopefully wrapping up in mid-November.

We've already reported on how this project has affected local retailers. Now we'd like to hear from the rest of you. How is this work affecting your commute? Are you avoiding downtown Easton because of it? Have you worked out alternate routes? Let us know in the comments section, or post something on our Facebook page.

I try and avoid downtown with all the construction and last minute road closures. Especially if you're in a hurry, forget it. The new "huge" sidewalks and the elimination of the turn roads by the gas station and hotel is ridiculous. Backs traffic up really bad. What was Easton thinking?
