Where in Easton Was This Photo Taken?

A reader seeks your help in identifying a decades-old photo in the city.

A few months ago, we launched a feature called "Your Neighborhood Gallery" -- since renamed "Pics and Clips" -- that allows readers to post photos of things around Easton.

One of these photos was posted by reader Rita Chesterson, along with this caption:

The Easton shop on left belonged to my grandfather, circa 1920's or 1930's. It says "Vecto Dealer" on the window. Vecto may have been a brand of sewing machine? I know he sold sewing machines at one time, but once again not sure what 'Vecto' means. Next door is Dillon plumbing. CAN ANYONE IDENTIFY THE STREET LOCATION, based on the reflections in the shop window? I'd love to know the answer. Thanks.

I'm just as in the dark here, folks. If anyone knows where this was, tell us in the comments.

I don't know where it is, but if you contact Richard Hope who does the walkin tours of Easton he may already know or can find out based on his research of Easton's past.

If anyone can figure it out it would be him!

I forwarded to Len Buscemi who is a local historian and has done numerous pictorial calendars of Easton over the years, he may know.

In 1922 - 1930 there was only one sewing machine dealer in Easton that was singer at 109 Northampton St.
the building on the left with the sink view in the window was Lafayette Barber Shop at306 Ferry St. This business began in the mid-late 1920's to the 1970's when the building was razed. Dillin Plumbing was run out of 308 Ferry St When it began and ended is ?? but it was there in 1930. It was run by John H and his son J. Kenneth Dillin.

I could be wrong, but the buildings in the reflection look an awful lot like 217 and 219 Ferry Street which is now Sette Luna. That would put these buildings somewhere near the now empty Unemployment Office.
