What Should Go in the Armory?

What would you like to see in this space?

It's hard to miss: a building that resembles a castle, sitting at the corner of Seventh and Northampton streets.

It's called the Armory, and the city has wanted something done with it -- other than its apparent use as a storage space -- for many years.

Earlier this year, Easton put the Armory on its blighted property list

The question to our readers: What would you like that restoration to look like? What does the neighborhood need? Let us know in the comments.

About this column: We ask readers what they'd like to see in Easton's vacant storefronts. Related Topics: Armory

In that neighborhood they could use it as a Military Style Police Headquarters. I was just by there stopped at the light yesterday, and that is what I was thinking as I looked at it. Just reopen the gun ports. This was before I just read this question. It could be restored, and useful. I also so thought it would be cool to make into a house, if it was some place else.

Id like to see it become an arts center focused un blighting the community. Youth classes, rotating resident artists. Easton is full of creative energy. I'd like to see it embraced and put to work in the West Ward.

What about making it a theatre for showing Independent and Documentary Films? including films for kids, as well. Here in Lambertville, we turned the old ACME building into the "ACME Screening Room." It isn't just for films though, it's also used for Town Council Mtgs. See link: http://acmescreeningroom.org/movies-events/may-2012-films/

I can think of a few -
It could be another Bar/resturant, an Art gallery, or my favorite would be to make it a Harley Davidson Dealership
