Two Rivers Brewing Company Offers a Taste of the Future

Bankers' Brown Ale and Pine Street Blonde were a hit with the couple of hundred beer fans who lined up for a first taste of the new local brewery's offerings.

The West Ward's Black and Blue was the place to be Wednesday evening as more than 250 locals showed up for a taste of the first test offerings of Two Rivers Brewing Company, set to open in the former Mount Vernon Ale House at Sixth and Northampton streets later this year.

Two Rivers' offerings of the evening -- Bankers' Brown Ale, an American style brown ale, and Pine Street Blonde, a Belgian-style wheat beer -- were both warmly received by the crowd, which cheerfully packed Black and Blue shoulder to shoulder for hours, along with paying $5 as a donation to benefit Easton Main Street Initiative for the privilege.

An easily walkable block from both Porters' Pub and Black and Blue, the new brewery will also cater to beer connoisseurs.

And, the three are obviously seeing an advantage to their proximity, with postcards already out advertising the three as “The Beermuda Triangle.”

With the motto, “Visit Easton. Pennsylvania's Beer City!” on the back, we smell competition for the city's Downtown restaurant district...a wonderful thing.
