Spirit Day Will "Rock" Easton Sunday
Community Spirit Day returns to Easton Sunday with the theme “Rockin’ and Rollin’ on the Waterfront.”
Community Spirit Day returns to Easton this Sunday with a rock 'n' roll-themed day at Scott Park.
According to a news release from Mayor Sal Panto, this year's musical lineup includes:
- The Main Street Cruisers take the stage at 4 p.m., performing rock hits from the 1950s and '60s. The group includes poodle-skirted vocalists Jillian and Lynn, as well as Lenny Longo, guitarist/vocalist for Bill Haley's Comets.
- The joEs, who performed at last year's Community Spirit Day, at 6:30 p.m. Together for nearly 20 years, the band has performed with acts such as Eddie Money, Three Dog Night, America, the Turtles.
- Closing out the night is Don Cunningham and Associates, a rock/R&B act led by former Bethlehem Mayor and Lehigh County Executive Don Cunningham. The group opened for Chuck Berry when he played at the State Theatre in 2011.
After the music ends, there'll be a fireworks display over the Delaware and Lehigh by Garden State Fireworks.
If you're a vendor who wants to sell food or beverages, or a community group that wants to share information, there's still time to set up a booth. For more information, call the mayor's office at 610-250-6610.
