Snow Emergency Declared in Easton
With heavy snow expected, Easton grants temporary parking to residents on snow emergency routes.
The storm we thought we were getting had less bite than what was first forecast.
On Friday morning, the National Weather Service predicted 5 to 11 inches of snow for the Easton area.
By Friday evening, the NWS had downgraded the storm, saying we could expect 3-5 inches.
Somewhere in between there, the city declared a snow emergency from 8 p.m. Friday until 1 p.m. Saturday.
That means two things:
1. If you live on one of the city's snow emergency routes -- Easton has them in all four neighborhoods -- you need to move your car.
2. Once you move it, you can keep your car in the city's parking garage, for free, until the snow emergency is lifted.
We've attached a list of the emergency routes to this story.
