Route 22 Restrictions Coming Next Week
PennDOT announces nighttime lane restrictions starting Monday for Route 22 work in Palmer Township, Wilson and Easton.
The drive on Route 22 is going to resemble an obstacle course at night starting next week.
PennDOT has announced nighttime lane restrictions starting Monday on Route 22 between the 25th Street interchange and the 4th Street interchange.
The restrictions will be in place for a project to rehabilitate the highway in Easton, Wilson, and Palmer Township.
PennDOT stated that lane restrictions will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday nights through Thursday mornings.
The project is expected to be completed this October.
Delays are expected and motorists are encouraged to use caution and allow for extra time traveling through the work zones. Updates will be provided whenever traffic patterns change.
The project includes roadway patching, milling and paving, and safety updates including new guide rail, signing and pavement markings along this section of US 22, as well as the interchange ramps.
Lehigh Valley Site Contractors Inc. of Easton is the general contractor on the $7,145,772 project.
The section of Route 22 has an average daily traffic volume that varies between 44,119 vehicles at the western end of the project area and 39,142 vehicles at the eastern end.
