A 50-year-old city woman is accused of swinging a partially opened Samurai sword at her boyfriend, causing injuries to his head and face.
The incident involving the suspect, Daisy Estremera, who lives at an apartment at 600 Canal St., occurred shortly before 1am Saturday, according to a criminal complaint filed by city Patrolman Timothy Wagner.
When Wagner arrived at the apartment, the boyfriend told him his girlfriend had attacked him in their bedroom. He said she scratched and hit his face and struck him with the partially opened sword.
Wagner said Estremera’s alleged actions caused the following injuries to the boyfriend: swelling and a contusion above his left eye; an abrasion on his nose; a laceration, bleeding and contusion on his scalp, and a small laceration to his upper lip.
Estremera was charged with simple assault, harassment and recklessly endangering another person. She was arraigned at 4:35am Saturday by on-duty District Judge Joseph Barner of Lower Nazareth Township and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $7,500 bail.
