Police Investigate Bomb Threat at Courthouse
Northampton County courthouse was evacuated Thursday due to a bomb threat.
The Northampton County courthouse was evacuated for a little over an hour Thursday due to a bomb threat, according to published reports.
The call came in around 1:05 p.m., with a woman saying there was a bomb in the government center's mailroom, according to the Express-Times.
Easton police were on the scene, with bomb-sniffing dogs, but employees and other people who had business at the courthouse were allowed back inside after about an hour.
The Morning Call notes that the threat came in the middle of a busy court session, with criminal court arraignments and a medical malpractice trial both being interrupted by the evacuation.
