Police: Drug Suspect Bites Easton Cop
Easton police say Eric Shaw bit a city police officer during drug arrest Friday.
An Easton man was jailed Friday after allegedly biting a city police officer who was arresting him on drug charges.
According to police, Eric Shaw, 20, of 1016 Ferry St., was the target of a heroin investigation in the West Ward.
Police say Shaw sold $100 worth of heroin to a police source. When officers tried to arrest Shaw, he allegedly ran, but was caught in the 100 block of N. 10th Street after trying unsuccessfully to get into a house on Bushkill Street.
When police were securing Shaw, he allegedly bit one of the officer's forearms, causing him to need medical treatment.
Shaw is charged with aggravated assualt, resisting arrest, escape, criminal trespass, delivery of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communications facility and providing false ID to police. He was arraigned before District Judge John Capobianco in Nazareth and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
