Animals seemed to be everywhere this weekend in Easton, between a bear sighting Friday night in the West Ward and the various farm animals at the Easton Farmers' Market Saturday morning.

Volunteers from Northampton County's 4-H brought sheep, goats, chickens and alpacas, while the Pig Placement Network had some of its adoptees for people to visit.

They were nice enough to let my girlfriend and I visit with Louie, the eight-week-old piglet whose picture you see here. And I learned a lot; apparently there's some unscrupulous pig-sellers out there, claiming these animals will stay as tiny as Louie.

"There's no such thing as a teacup pig," one of the volunteers told us.
