Why can't the city close that place down? Why doesn't anyone do some true investigative reporting and find out why the owners of such establishments in this city still have free reign to conduct such negative business when so many are trying to do good around them? This is why respectable business owners don't stay!

I agree with Feduplifer. As a business owner just a block away from the establishment, I can attest to it's negative impact on our community. This incident is just one in a long string of incidents that can be attributed to it's clientele. I've personally watched drug deals, prostitution, public drunkenness, public urination and physical altercations occur right outside it's front door. In 2009, there was a retaliation murder inside the bar that has yet to go unsolved. Why isn't Morganelli camped outside yet? Why hasn't the state revoked it's liscence? It makes me shake my head in disgust. The only thing I can call it is nepotistic. Old school allegiances die hard.

Your last comment is fairly accurate Amund. There is a "Good-ol-Boys Club" in this town that enjoys the luxury of political favors and protection. They are allowed to ignore codes and dump on their neighbors with reckless abandon. They never shovel their sidewalks and their dumpsters always overflow. We shake our heads and complain and nothing happens. Not even the poor excuse for Press in this town is allowed to write about it. We suffer and they prosper. It's shameful and disgusting! It needs to end!

I agree, you guys are so correct! Hardworking people shouldn't have to watch drug transactions where they shop or eat maybe just want to take a stroll down Northampton with their kids. It's ridiculous that people who have the power to enforce the law just turn their eye away. Reporting and highlighting the problem is a way to deter the drug dealing prostitution and any ideas the criminals may have. But if for one minute they think it's just going to go away, they are so sadly mistaken. It will take over and people need to complain and report! If we expect any change!!!

Odd...the Northampton county property records do not list 125 Northampton Street. At least not the one in Easton.

According to an ET article on the 2009 shooting, the owner is John Melhem. Strange, though, that it's not listed in the public records online. Is it known by another address perhaps?

@Pam- is there any way to find out how many, and what type of police calls/complaints have been made in regards to 121-127 Northampton St.?

I honestly don't know. I would *think* the police department would keep logs of calls/complaints/visits, etc., but I have no idea if or how it's complied and if it's available for public viewing.

That place is a den of iniquity in MANY ways, no stranger to trouble. Just l ike some of the other BArs in Easton, they are protected. sad... clean up a few dumps & the propery value could increase. A better class of people just might frequent the city of Easton. We've a ll seen it happen. like cancer... it just keeps eating away the healthy till only the degenerates hang on.

Parcel number for 121-127 Northampton is L9SE2B 3 7 0310 and the owner mentioned above is still listed as the current owner in the public records.

so...w/ all this info available & public knowledge, why doesn't anyone pressure the owners of these FINE establishments? I CAN only bet ( no pun intended) that they all have family & would rather chew off thier right arms than have their OWN children end up like the poor recipients of the "buisiness DEALS"taking place downtown in their establishments. But when you all go to the same church & play on the church b-ball team it makes it rather hard. Even harder when you have family members in Politics.

The trouble is, this particular 'family' doesn't care. It is obvious because they own most of the worst properties in the city. Start cross referencing the owners names with the worst addresses and you will be able to see a fairly strong connection.
