Loud noises are apparently cannon used to scare off birds.

Have you heard any loud booms coming from Williams Township?
Apparently, it's the sound of a propane cannon at the Chrin Brothers Sanitary Landfill. The Express-Times reports that Easton residents were able to hear the cannon -- used to keep birds from feasting on trash -- from two miles away.

First it was offsite odors, now cannon blasts. What masterminds in Williams Township decided a landfill could be in a residential area? Williams Township should take a hard look at their zoning practices.

The landfill was there before the residential construction took place. The question is what were the developers and homebuyers thinking?
