Five Things to Know Today, May 21
The Freddys are here, the Easton school budget is decided, and more...
Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a good weekend, and got outside for a bit. I was glad I could attend the Farmers' Market, and walk around town talking to people.
Anyway, Monday's here, and it's time for our weekly Five Things:
1. The Freddy Awards are here! The tenth annual awards for local high school theater will be given out Thursday evening at the State Theatre, and broadcast live on WFMZ.
2. The Easton Area School Board is scheduled to meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Easton Area High School. On the agenda: adoption of the 2012/2013 budget.
3. Easton City Council meets Wednesday at the Easton Area Community Center at 6 p.m.
4. It looks like the Third Street Cafe's days are numbered. The restaurant will close after 18 months under its current owners, according to the Express Times.
5. Today is May 21. The Amy Fisher case made national news 20 years ago today. The British philosopher John Stuart Mill was born on this day in 1806.
