Easton Shooting Leads to Valley-Wide Chase
Police say a man fired shots in Easton, then led them on a chase to Whitehall.
A late night shooting in Easton's West Ward Sunday led police on a chase that ended when the suspect crashed his car in Whitehall, according to city police.
Police say officers were called to 14th and Washington streets around 10:09 p.m. Sunday for a report of shots fired.
According to a police news release, investigators sent other local departments a description of a car that was apparently involved in the shooting.
Palmer police spotted the car, police say, and chased it along Route 22 with the help of state police. The chase ended when the car crashed on the Fullerton Avenue exit in Whitehall Township.
The four men inside the car fled on foot, with three of them being caught within minutes.
Police say one of the men -- Lloyd Saunders, 33, New York City -- had a warrant on weapons charges from his hometown.
Police say Saunders was arraigned on fugitive charges and sent to Northampton County Prison. The investigation into the shooting is still underway.
