Easton Salsa Could Soon Have New Home

The owner of Easton Salsa gets permission from city planners to move to new West Ward farmers' market.

The Easton Salsa Company

Owner Arthur Skrzenski got the blessing of the city Planning Commission Wednesday night to set up shop at 1458 Northampton St., the same building as the new indoor farmers' market. He's been working out of the Bank Street Annex.

Skrzenski, who still needs the approval of the city Zoning Hearing Board later this month, told commissioners the move makes things easier for him and Bank Street.

"It’s a parellel move for now," he said. "Over at the Bank Street Annex, they plan on expanding. At a certain point, I'm going to be stepping on their toes."

Skrzenski, who sells his product at farmers' markets around the region, said this will help increase his visibility.

"It's a better presence for Easton Salsa," he said. "At these markets, a lot of people ask 'Where's your store?'"

Any word on when the market is set to open? Or the jazz lounge at the Annex?
