Easton Police Raid South Side Home
Neighbor complaints lead Easton police to make three arrests on drug charges.
Easton police raided a home on the city's South Side Wednesday morning after neighbors complained about drug activity.
Two people were arrested at the home, 620 Seitz St., while a third -- homeowner Melvin Ransom -- was taken into custody a few blocks away at the Turkey Hill on Morgan Hill Road, police said. Ransom is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Also arrested were Kathleen Fretz, 42, and Quincy Williams, 35, both charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said Fretz was wanted on a bench warrant and sent to Northampton County Prison.
Lt. Matthew Gerould said the investigation was prompted by "numerous neighbor complaints" about the house.
"So many that they were actually going to two different units of our department," the vice squad and the problem-oriented police division, Gerould said. "Obviously, this was a nuisance house."
The city codes department is also involved in the case because Ransom was apparently living in the house without electricity, Gerould said.
