An Easton man is accused of fondling a 9-year-old girl, according to court records.

Neil James Albright, 44, of 819 Ferry St., is facing felony counts of criminal attempt to commit indecent assault and corruption of minors as a result of the alleged incident on June 7.

Police said the girl awoke in her bed at 6:30 a.m. that day to find Albright rubbing her genitals through her underwear, the arrest affidavit says. The girl related the story to her mother that day and again four days later to police and Northampton County Children & Youth officials.

Albright was arrested on Wednesday night and also charged with misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned before District Judge Roy Manwaring of Bethlehem and committed to Northampton County Prison after failing to post $50,000 bail.
