Easton High Student Dies

Lewis Ogioba was a sophomore basketball player.

Easton Area High School is mourning the loss of one of its students.

Lewis Ogioba, a sophomore, died earlier this week. The school district posted an announcement on its website, and offered its condolences.

Ogioba reportedly collapsed on Wednesday while playing on an area basketball court, according to an email sent to Palmer-Forks Patch. A cause of death has yet to be determined but according to WMFZ, Ogioba suffered from asthma.

An outpouring of wishes to the family have come in since the Facebook page for Ogioba was started earlier this week.

"I hope you're playing balll up in the skies, man & watching over everyone here," one person wrote.

According to the district website, counselors will be on hand today from 10am to 2pm to help students cope with the loss.

Services for Ogioba will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Forks United Church of Christ at 4500 Sullivan Trail Stockertown, PA 18083, according to the district website.
