Deadly Dump Truck Crash in Forks Township

One person killed when car hits dump truck on Route 611 north of Easton.

Emergency crews responded early Friday to a fatal crash in which a car collided with a dump truck in Forks Township.

Reports stated that the accident took place around 6:30 a.m. along Danser Hill Road in the area of Route 611 and that there was one fatality and another serious injury.

The Northampton County coroner was being requested as well.

A medical helicopter was put on standby and a medic was at the scene by 6:45, emergency dispatches indicate. Rescue units were advised to expedite, the Easton Express-Times was reporting.

PennDOT issued an alert at 8 a.m. advising motorists to seek alternate routes due to the fatal accident between Frutchey Hill Road and Frost Hollow Road
since Route 611 is closed.

PennDOT said motorists should expect delays and use caution driving through the area.

Authorities could not be reached for comment for more details.

Forks Township experienced a traffic fatality last November when a man drove his car into a tree, killing himself and his daughter.

Forks Township authorities have been busy of late, handling two fires in the past month.
