Calling All Easton School District Parents

Patch is looking to talk to parents at Easton Area School District -- especially the middle school-- about the new school year.

School starts in less than two weeks in the Easton Area School District, with a lot fewer teachers working for the district than last year.

Before school starts, we'd like to talk to parents in the district to find out how they think the layoffs from this spring will affect their children's schooling this year. We'd also like to see whether they've approached school officials about it.

We'd especially like to hear from parents of students at the middle school, which seemed to bear the brunt of the layoffs.

If you'd like to talk to us, e-mail tom.coombe@patch.com, or connect with us on Facebook or Twitter

Maybe if the teachers did the honorable thing there wouldn't be any layoffs. Most of these teachers live outside of Easton and could care less about what we have to go thru to pay their bloated salaries. I say we strike and keep our kids home until they get fed up. We can call it the Red Rover Flu.

Bloated salaries .. these teachers care and educated our kids 7 hours a day, 180 days a year, multiple that by the number of students they are have in each class ... Do the math Bill, IF YOU CAN .. their salaries are FAR from being bloated.

? YOu do realize right that the majority of kids are already mentally at home most of the time. There are some who try very hard, but there are way too many that just use school as a means to buy drugs and arrange their sexual "hookups". BE thankful to God if your child is not one of the many that do this. Hug and thank them for their hard work in studying. Teach them to honor their teachers and never talk badly about authority figures in front of them. DO teach them however what is appropriate and innapropriate so they do not become a victim. Fed up? Have one of the busy parents give up their salary and home school. I am sure that you can do as good a job as the school right? Many do. Try it and find out. You will either have the best experience ever...or have a new appreciation for teachers.

I deleted three comments from this story because they crossed the line from "healthy debate" to "vicious name calling." Let's keep things civil.
