At Least One Hit in South Side Shooting
Shots fired in late afternoon altercation in Easton's South Side hit at least one person, scanner reports indicated.
Police responded to reports of gun shots that apparently left at least one person injured in the intersection of West Nesquehoning and Davis streets around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to scanner reports.
Witness reports indicated that after the initial incident, four or five men fled the scene.
It's the second shooting in Easton -- and on the city's South Side -- in the last three days. On Sunday, two men were shot and wounded in the Neston Heights neighborhood. Police identified a suspect in that shooting Wednesday afternoon.
Police were looking for a blue Pontiac Vibe that was last seen headed south on St. John Street. Scanner reports indicated the vehicle may have been located in a nearby parking lot by around 5 p.m.
A man suspected to be involved was detained by police, after being apprehended in the alley behind Tommy's Pizza off Davis Street about 10 minutes later.
Authorities also apparently recovered a revolver and a jacket a couple of blocks away, and also a shirt at another location within a few blocks.
Reports of a gunshot victim found by a homeowner in the 200 block West St. Joseph Street were also heard, but have yet to be confirmed by authorities.
A possible second victim may have been seen by personnel at St. Luke's Anderson, as radio reports indicated police were on the way to interview a man that may have been involved.
A second suspected actor, reported to be a black male standing 5'8” to 5'10” tall, about 20 years old, and wearing a white tank top is currently being sought, scanner reports indicated.
