After Crash, Man Demands To Be Arrested. Police Oblige.
Wilfredo Rosario-Ortiz of Palmer allegedly caused 4th Street accident
Police say a Palmer Township man caused a Sunday night car crash, then said he wanted to be arrested when police showed up.
According to police, Wilfredo Rosario-Ortiz, Jr., 28, of Southwood Drive, got into an argument with his girlfriend while they were driving down Fourth Street after drinking at the Pomfret Club.
During the argument, Rosario-Ortiz grabbed the steering wheel, causing the car to crash into a utility pole. When police arrived, he angrily demanded to be arrested, and held his hands behind his back.
Rosario-Ortiz got his wish: he was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Corpora in Easton, and charged with reckless endangerment, public drunkeness, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Unable to post $5,000 bail, Rosario-Ortiz was sent to Northampton County Prison.
