Easton city council looks at the 2013 budget, the school board meets, and more...

 

Good morning everyone. It's Monday, and I'm off today, spending the day with my girlfriend for her birthday. Here's what's happening the rest of the week.

1. Easton City Council is scheduled to meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. to discuss the 2013 budget. Council's regular meeting will follow Wednesday at 6 p.m. 

2. The Easton Area School Board holds its regular meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m.

3. The local Relay for Life chapter is holding its used cell phone fundraiser all this week at the KNBT bank branch inside the the 25th Street Giant.

4. Over at Neighbors of Easton, Dennis Leib writes about a pair ExxonMobil executives' recent speech on fracking at Lafayette College.

5. Today is Oct. 22. It's the 50th anniversary of the start of the Cuban Missile Crisis, and also the 60th birthday of Jeff Goldblum.
