5 Things to Know Today

Safe Harbor unveils plan to save itself, more on the NID, and more...

Good morning everyone. I'm headed west later today to record a segment for our weekly radio show, which airs Friday at noon on WXLV's station at LCCC. I'll be talking about Easton's new plan for blighted properties.

Here are five things to know today:

1. Safe Harbor will announce its plans to remain open this afternoon at a news conference at the shelter on Bushkill Drive. Budget cuts have put Safe Harbor in danger of closing recently.

2. A reminder: tonight's city council meeting will be held at the Crayola Factory's auditorium, where the Neighborhood Improvement District will be discussed again.

3. Noel Jones' Neighbors of Easton blog discusses the Boys & Girls Club's call for partnerships.

4. A few days old, but worth a read: blogger Drew Stefancin's reflections on a friend's recent move, and what that means for him.

5. Happy birthday to Ronnie Spector, Antonio Banderas, and the PG-13 movie.
